Ordinance 2026-14

An ordinance amending Title 5 of the Riverton Municipal Code regarding short-term rentals.

Section 1. Licence required

No person shall offer a dwelling unit for rent for a period of fewer than 30 consecutive days without first obtaining a short-term rental licence from the City Clerk.

Section 2. Application

  • Proof of ownership or written owner authorisation
  • A local contact available 24 hours a day
  • A floor plan showing sleeping areas and exits
  • Proof of liability insurance of not less than $500,000

Section 3. Effective date

This ordinance takes effect 1 January 2027.
